How do you post to LinkedIn from an AI agent?

Connect your LinkedIn profile to Chirpie once with OAuth, then let the agent call POST /api/v1/posts or the chirpie_post MCP tool. Chirpie handles LinkedIn's Posts API, image upload, token refresh and the 3,000 character limit. Schedule a week of posts in one go, or publish the same announcement to LinkedIn and your other networks in one request.

What Chirpie does on LinkedIn

• Posts of up to 3,000 characters on your LinkedIn profile, published now or at a scheduled time.
• Media: up to 4 images (JPEG, PNG or GIF, 8 MB each) with alt text up to 4,000 characters. See Media.
• Threads: LinkedIn has no reply chains, so each part of a thread is published as its own post, in order. See Threads.
• Analytics: likes, shares and comments for each post. See Analytics.
• Scheduling, drafts and editing: queue posts in your own timezone, save drafts, and edit a post until it goes out. See Scheduling.
• Several accounts at once: one request publishes to LinkedIn and your other networks, with longer LinkedIn text in account_configurations when you want it. See Post to several accounts at once.
• Delete: removes the post from LinkedIn and keeps Chirpie's record of it, marked deleted.

Connect your LinkedIn account

LinkedIn connects with OAuth. Pick LinkedIn on the Accounts page, or start the flow from the API and open the authorization_url it returns:

From the terminal, chirpie accounts connect-linkedin. From an agent, ask it to "connect my LinkedIn" and it calls chirpie_connect_linkedin and hands you the link.

Add Chirpie to Claude from its listing in the Claude Connectors Directory, or add https://chirpie.ai/mcp as an app in ChatGPT developer mode, and sign in. Then ask:

Do I need a LinkedIn developer app to post with Chirpie?

No. You connect your LinkedIn profile to Chirpie with OAuth, and Chirpie makes the LinkedIn API calls, including token refresh, for you.

How long can a LinkedIn post be?

3,000 characters. Chirpie checks the length before anything is sent and answers 400 with the limit if the text is longer.

Does LinkedIn support threads through Chirpie?

LinkedIn has no reply chains, so a thread sent to a LinkedIn account is published as standalone posts in order. That lets one thread request cover X, Bluesky, Mastodon and LinkedIn together.

Can an AI agent post to a LinkedIn Company Page?

Connecting LinkedIn Company Pages is coming soon. Today Chirpie posts to the LinkedIn profile you connect.

Can Chirpie post video to LinkedIn?

Not today. LinkedIn posts through Chirpie take up to 4 images (JPEG, PNG or GIF, up to 8 MB each). A video sent to a LinkedIn account is refused with 400 unsupported_media rather than dropped.
