TikTok posting API for AI agents
How Chirpie lets an AI agent publish TikTok photo posts from one API call or an MCP tool, with a caption, up to 35 images and scheduling.
Updated October 2026
How do you post to TikTok from an AI agent?
Connect a TikTok account to Chirpie, then send one request with a caption and the images, or ask your agent in Claude or ChatGPT. Chirpie hands the media to TikTok, waits until TikTok has finished processing it, and records the published post, so the agent never handles TikTok's OAuth or its publish-and-poll flow.
TikTok is coming soon to Chirpie.
What Chirpie does on TikTok
- Publishes photo posts: up to 35 images in one post, with a caption of up to 2,200 characters, public, with comments on.
- Waits for the result: TikTok publishes asynchronously, and Chirpie polls until the post is live before it answers, so the id it returns is the real post.
- Schedules posts: a future
schedule_atqueues the post for the cron that publishes every five minutes. - Checks media first: images in a photo format up to 20 MB each. A post with no media is refused before TikTok is called.
- Tells you about deletes up front: TikTok has no delete API, so a delete answers
501 delete_unsupportedrather than claiming a removal that did not happen.
How the connection works
You sign in with TikTok and approve Chirpie, from the dashboard or by asking your agent to connect the account. Chirpie stores the tokens encrypted and refreshes them on its own. The account then appears in GET /api/v1/accounts with an id your requests name as account_id.
Post from code
curl -X POST https://chirpie.ai/api/v1/posts \
-H "Authorization: Bearer chirpie_sk_YOUR_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"account_id": "YOUR_TIKTOK_ACCOUNT_ID",
"text": "Three looks from this week #fallfashion",
"media_urls": [
"https://example.com/look-1.jpg",
"https://example.com/look-2.jpg",
"https://example.com/look-3.jpg"
]
}'import { ChirpieClient } from "@chirpie/sdk";
const chirpie = new ChirpieClient({ apiKey: process.env.CHIRPIE_API_KEY });
await chirpie.createPost({
account_id: "YOUR_TIKTOK_ACCOUNT_ID",
text: "Three looks from this week #fallfashion",
media_urls: ["https://example.com/look-1.jpg", "https://example.com/look-2.jpg"],
schedule_at: "2026-11-02T17:00:00Z",
});Every field is in the Posts API reference, and uploads are in Media.
Post from Claude or ChatGPT
Chirpie is listed in the Claude Connectors Directory, so in Claude you add it from the listing and sign in. In ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client you add https://chirpie.ai/mcp. Then ask in plain language:
- "Post these five product photos to TikTok with a caption about the launch."
- "Schedule this photo set for Friday at 5pm and write a caption with three hashtags."
Setup for each assistant is in Use Chirpie with Claude and the MCP Server page.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of TikTok post does Chirpie publish?
A public photo post with a caption, built from the images attached to the post. A TikTok post always needs media, so a request with text alone is refused.
How many images can one TikTok post carry?
Up to 35, each a photo format of up to 20 MB. TikTok shows them as a swipeable photo post.
How long can a TikTok caption be?
Up to 2,200 characters.
Can I delete a TikTok post through Chirpie?
No. TikTok offers no API for deleting a post, so a delete request answers 501 delete_unsupported and the post has to be removed in the TikTok app.
Can I schedule TikTok posts?
Yes. Add a future schedule_at and Chirpie publishes the post at that time, waiting for TikTok to finish processing before it records the post as published.
